1 year old photos!!!!

A few weeks ago- Kelli Acosta took our 1 year old pictures! Aren't they GREAT! She really had a challenge with these two! They are on the move, fast, and often in different directions! I love, love, love what she did! I can't believe that my little girls are already 1 year olds! Enjoy their sweet pictures!

Thanks Kelli for really capturing the personality of Mattie and Hailey! Can't wait to see what you do next!

Water Babies with Grammy and Pop Pop!

This past weekend Grammy and Pop Pop (Ken's Parents) came for a long weekend visit! Their time here was great! They were able to see how much the girls have grown and changed since Christmas. THe weather has been so great here we decided to take advantage and head to the beach! Both of the girls LOVED it! Mommy and Mattie toes in the sand...
Grammy and Hailey headed into the water...

We spent alot of time walking like this while at the beach- the girls LOVED playing in the water...

and sand!

Look at those little "Beach Babies"!!! My little LOVEBUGS!!!

Hailey convinced Pop Pop to come into the water too!

Water baby Hailey
Water baby Mattie

After some fun in the sun- time to clean up! Grammy gave both girls baths! She brought them each a handheld bubble toy that we introduced during bath time. Our kitchen was filled with bubbles and the girls had a ball!

Clean Hailey!
Soon to be clean Mattie!

Our sweet grandparents also brought the girls a motorized train with tracks, but we quickly realized the train runs all over the house with or without the tracks! Hailey thinks this is her seat now- even when Mattie isn't on it. Funny! She really is a climber!!!

So silly- Hailey in Pop Pops glasses!

Mommy and Mattie before Mommy and Daddy headed out for our "Date Night"! It was so great to go to a movie and dinner with my hubby! I really appreciated all the help we were given! Before Ken's parents left this morning- our grass had been mowed, the inside vaccumed, dishes done, and laundry started!!!! What a great feeling to walk in my house this afternoon- minus the fact that the help had cleared out...
Thanks Grammy and Pop Pop for a great visit! We can't wait to see you again soon!
HUGS!

If you are HAPPY and you know it...

Mattie and Hailey's favorite song is...

"If you are HAPPY and you know it"! It is really a perfect fit for these 2 happy lil' lovebugs. Anytime I start to sing it- they clap like crazy! I finally caught it on video! Enjoy- minus my singing!

"One pair of shoes can change your life." - Cinderella

The Haynes girls sure have been busy! We have really been on the "GO" here lately! Mattie and Hailey are really on the move. They both LOVE LOVE LOVE these walking toys. I am willing to bet they have walked a million miles around our house with these. It is a hoot to watch them go! Hailey is motion- she is one tough cookie to slow down!
The girls refueling!

Mattie on the go too! Because of our new mode of transportation- it was time for me to get serious about good walking shoes for babies! So- the other day the girls and I headed to Bay Brook mall in search of the perfect shoes! We went to Macy's- no luck, Dillard's- cute but only one pair- finally we ended at Stride Rite- the perfect pair for my 2 little "sparklers"! We are kind of in between sizes right now- but 3's work the best. The girls each got a pair of white Keds as well! I just want their toes to be comfy as they are getting this walking down pat! :) :) :) Remember:
"One pair of shoes can change your life"--- I could not agree more, Cinderella!

Aren't they adorable?!?!?!? Last 2 pairs too!!

Lately, the girls have really started "playing" with each other! It is PRECIOUS! Here I caught Mattie feeding Hailey goldfish. They have also begun saying each others names- well trying to anyway! They are just the best of friends and sweet sisters.

Everyday when Daddy gets home- both girls are so excited! They just LIGHT UP and reach for him to pick them up and immediately point to the back door. The girls know that everyday- they go outside with him and chase Belle around the yard. Here Ken decided to hold both and chase her. He sure has his hands full!

I am so BLESSED!

I have really started to think that M & H could be part monkey- we LOVE to climb. I am close to breaking down and buying the mosquito net top for their cribs to keep them in there! The girls love to get on the couch and play. They get the biggest kick out of sitting in this decoration- and looking out the window.

Hailey brought a few toys with her.
My girls just keep me smiling! Mattie and Hailey are constantly watching everything we do- and are learning so much. Mattie is learning to blow her nose- which I am encouraging big time since so many 2-3 year olds in my class can't yet- and Hailey loves to pretend to wipe Mommy and Daddy's nose. Oh the simple pleasures!!! :)
Happy Friday!

Junior League Weekend workers!

Friday night: no rest for the weary! As soon as Ken came home I was out the door headed to The Ronald McDonald House on the island where we were painting the columns in the garage to "spruce" up the colorless walls! I have visited the RMH in Memphis before, but this was my first time in Galveston- once again I was in awe of this facility. I LOVE that there is a place for families of sick/burned children to stay close by while they are receiving the treatments they need. I love that even when they are at their sickest- there is someone or something or some way that this facility is trying to meet their every need! I am so thankful that I was able to hopefully help "brighten" a day by the art we painted. I know my day was brightened just by being around these SPECIAL, AMAZING people!

I am proud to be trading my Provisional status for Active status!!! I have fulfilled my volunteer hours! Wha hoo!
After a few coats of paint- we cleaned up- I picked Ken and I up dinner- then went and dumped a load of our "Garage Sale" stuff off at a neighbors house who graciously invited several of us to have a BIG SALE in her yard! That is how my Saturday began...
I headed over to The Martin's around 6:30- donuts in hand (my mom says "Never show up empty handed"- any excuse to eat a donut right?)
After the initial set up and the first rush of people- I had to head out (around 7:40am) to Independent Village in Texas City. Our Provisional class chose this facility to do our yearly project on this year. We were giving a "face lift" to their all purpose room. Here are a few pictures of fellow leaguers hard at work!

IV is a facility where people with special needs can be independent, but still under care. They are encouraged to work, budget, function as if they were living on their own in the "real" world.
We were able to paint the room (with the help of a few other volunteers too)- as a class we also donated 2 new book shelves (which they are putting together here), 2 new leather couches, 2 reclining chairs, a credenza, and a 55" TV. I am so proud of how everything turned out and truly appreciate everyone doing their part- this made my job so much easier!

Working hard! Out with the old- in with the new!!!

Touching up some paint spots! We want this room to be PERFECT!

THe day ended with the deliver of our new furniture gift... Thanks JL girls for a great work day!!

Mrs. Judy (the facility director) was thrilled! Mattie and Hailey were with me at this point in the day- you can see a foot on the left (hahaha). They were such troopers considering they didn't get a nap! No- I never do this, but today with Ken being called in to the hospital (he is on face trauma call) and my leadership role in this project- we all had to pull ourselves up by our boot straps!
When we finally did get home (around 4:30pm) Ken had a surprise for the girls...

A swing set that HE MADE!!! I love being married to someone so "handy"! He has worked so hard to get this together and the girls LOVED it! We have had these swings since January- thanks Grammy and Pop-Pop, but didn't have anywhere to hang them until now. I see many hours ahead outside!!!

I think these pictures just show our girls personality to a tee! I am so blessed to have such happy, flexible, loving babies!!

THANK YOU DADDY for our new swing set! We LOVE it and we LOVE YOU!!!
