3rd year is a charm!

Let me explain... Our very first anniversary- 11 days before Hurricane Ike "rocked, swayed, and washed away" a good bit of our world- Ken and I celebrated our first anniversary. We had just found out we were having not one but 2 babies- what a first year! As a gift, Ken gave me this BEAUTIFUL glass vase with sand and one shell (that looks zebra print-ish- he knows what I like) and told me that every year we will add a shell. Isn't that the sweetest, most romantic gift...? Every year since the first one- I have gotten a shell to add to it. I treasure this vase of shells- it is our story. When we evacuated for Ike, this was one of the first things that I saved! Last night we tried to figure out if we would have to buy a new vase as the years go on or if the vase could hold 70 more shells! Yes- we plan to live to 100!

September 1, 2007- I married my best friend and today we celebrated 3 years of marriage. We celebrated in style: we started the night at the Gumbo Bar on Post Office then headed to Murdoch's only to realize that it was closed.... so we headed to the Poop Deck- yes, I walked in there... only to realize it was a "cash only" establishment- so off to The Spot-where we called both of our parents and waved at them on "The Spot Cam". We enjoyed reminising about how we met and Ken and Erin became a "we"! I am so thankful to be married to such an amazing man! I am excited to think about what our future holds! I know it will be amazing- because we will be together! I love you Ken Haynes!!! 3rd year

Yea!!! Okay, so I think I will have to copy the shell idea. I better go find 6 shells! Talk to me about the Spot camera. Love that you went to the Poop Deck. That is one to tell the grandkids... "Well in residency we went to the Poop Deck for our anniversary!" Love you, love the Haynes family!
