Birthday week year 2!!!

We kicked this year off big and headed to Sesame Street Live in Houston! It was just as I expected- GREAT! Mattie was all over it- couldn't get enough! Hailey took a little longer to warm up- but eventually LOVED it! It was like the girls were seeing some of their best friends!

Luckily, one of our actual BFF's was able to go with us- sweet Lilly K. and the Kummerfeld krew! It was so much fun watching all 3 of our girls!

All in all- a great week! I can't get over that I now have 2 year olds! Some say "Double Trouble", but I would disagree and say "DOUBLE THE FUN!"

2 Year Well Visit

In HONOR of PAPA's 59th Birthday- tiara's for everyone!! (Ignore the yogurt on Mattie's shirt- and YES we do EVERYTHING in a crown- including eat.)

This is the face Hailey made when I said "Let's take a picture for PaPa!" I feel like the song "You light up my life should be playing in the background"!

On to the BIG news of today... this afternoon we took the girls for their 2 year well visit. We saw Dr. Patricia Rogers- and I can't say enough good things about her! We love her!! She is so sweet to the girls- she calls them the "Bopsy twins". It was such a good visit, both girls walked in talking and waving at everyone. They both stood on the scales, and let the nurses get their height! It was great!!! They were so brave and most of all friendly. Everyone that saw them complemented how cute they were, but more importantly how SWEET these girls were! My heart just burst with pride! Here we are ready for our check up- aren't the gowns cute?!?!

Here are a few stats:
Mattie Lynn-

31lbs (90th percentile)

36 in (90th percentile) *I know a few people have told me she was tall for her age- but hello!

Hailey Suttton:

27lbs (53 percentile)

34 1/2 in (63 percentile)

*** Let me just say that I felt the Hallelujah Chorus resound in my heart the minute I saw on their growth charts- that my adorable, precious, early birds (33 weeks) were above 50th percentile in EVERYTHING!! This is HUGE! I always heard that by the time premies are 2 they catch up and BOY DID WE!!! I mean to go from not even on the growth chart to 53 and 90%- this is HUGE STRIDES!! :) God has really blessed Ken and I!

I think we are over the gowns...

luckily, we didn't have any shots to get, but they did need to take blood... boo. Mattie is trying to comfort Hailey by giving her Bunny. It is so sweet- seeing each of my girls learning to have empathy for others.

After all was said and done- we headed to Marble Slab for some ice cream! Both girls LOVED the special treat!

Two-Two TODAY!

February 15, 2009- Ken and I's lives were FOREVER ROCKED (in the most amazing way)- our precious littles decided to make a "grand enterance" about 7 weeks early. I look back on the past 2 years and can't help but SMILE (with a tear in my eye). The past 730 days with you have been the best gift God could have given us- watching you two grow, change, and become sweet, sweet toddlers! I can't think of this day- without remembering back on the actual day you were born- I remember all the sweet nurses and doctors that helped us be the best parents to our new premies! You both were so tiny- but in that moment that I laid eyes on you- I fell in LOVE!

I felt like the luckiest mommy- I not only got to visit one baby- I got to visit 2! God must really think we are special for giving us both of you.

First of all- let me give credit where credit is due these amazing pictures of my girls were taken by Kelli Acosta Photography. She is amazing! As I look at the pictures she took- she truly captured each of my girls as I see them! I am beyond thrilled with these priceless photos. I highly recommend her- as you can tell!!! (Be sure and tell her I sent ya!)
Hailey Sutton Haynes- gilrfriend- you came into this world with sassy written all over you! You might look alot like your Daddy (and a little like me- girl I see it!)- but you are me all over again in personality! You are a JOY to your Daddy and I! Each day you do something that is so cute and uniquely you. You are very outgoing- you love to be the center of attention, and you love to talk- I understand alot- but alot I don't. You have alot of words- and I am impressed by how much both you and Mattie know! You have started calling me "MiMi"- not real sure where that came from, but it is really cute. You love to play outside, dance, watch Calliou, and take a bath. Your favorite song is "The Wheels on the bus". You love to dress up in mommy's clothes, tutu's, and shoes! Shoes are your most FAVORITE things! You have mastered walking in Mommy's heels- it is impressive and scary all at the same time! Your favorite person right now is PaPa- we talk about him daily. You love to make Daddy give you "rides" on his back while yelling "nay!" You cannot and will not sleep without your bunny.

Mattie Lynn-
girlfriend- you are a hoot! You are so independent- I love that about you. I know that you are going to grow to be a strong young lady, but it can be hard when now for your mommy. You are outgoing and love to play. You like to sing, but your favorite song is "if your happy and you know it", you have the most beautiful smile- but you make me earn them! Your best friend is your thumb and bunny! Bunny goes everywhere with you- and it is ok by me. :) You are easily excite-able. Your laugh is the sweetest. You love to be outside, playing with Belle, or taking a bath. Your favorite toy is your blocks or a good book. You love to be read to. You can identify a ton of animals: monkey, snake, peacock, walrus, hippo, all farm, zebra (of course), pets, etc... it is amazing. I think you might be a vet someday. You are a cuddler when you are tired. You always wake up happy- I love that. You are VERY mannerly- you have "thank you" down pat- and it is so sweet. You like to tell people to "share"- when what you really mean is "mine", but it is so cute- and sweet sounding. You have a major sweet tooth- like mommy.
