Last day at EEP

Bittersweet- my girls started here as babies- not crawling, not walking, babies and now- look at them!  BITTERSWEET!!!

Adorable- precious LOVES of my life!

Happy 31st Birthday- Mommy!

Well- it's official...

I AM 30 +1= 31!  I will say it was harder than 30, but with the excitement and chaos surrounding my birthday- it was definitely a GREAT day!

We

started with breakfast with our favorite folks- my girls, and both sets of our parents... We also got to celebrate our favorite Father's on this day too!!

After breakfast- we headed to FBC for our last church service as Galvestonians!

 

It was a precious service.  Dr. Meador honored our family with a family Bible from FBC.  This is a treasured momento of our time in Galveston.  FBC- has been amazing for us.  We will miss you all!

Just sayin...

I LOVE any day that involves gifts- don't get me wrong- I really do love to give as well as receive.  Nothing makes me happier than to find a gift for someone that I KNOW they will just love!  

We ended the night with Ken and Erin date on the new Historic Pleasure Pier.  We started with appetizers at Bubba Gump's and then I was forced to ride the Iron Shark... 3 times.  Okay, Okay, I was forced the 1st time...

the 2nd and 3rd were my choice.

Ya'll- it' literally makes you lay down then drops you!   Crazy!!!

We were the ultimate tourists and bought the picture... after 7 years together- we can still have 1st's!  We realized this was the 1st roller coaster we had ever ridden together... (may be our only).  

The picture makes me laugh- the 1st ride- I had no idea there was a camera... I looked like cousin it in the picture... should've gotten that one- HA!

I think Ken and I both figuredout where the camera was on this one!

Graduation from Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at UTMB

Proud- doesn't even begin to touch how I feel about what Ken has accomplished- what we as a family have accomplished! Whew!  What a rollercoaster ride it has been- Can I get an AMEN?!?!?

Graduation occured on June 16, 2012- part of the busiest/best weeks of my life.

Both sets of parents were able to attend the ceremony- and a HUGE thank you to Ken's Aunt Linda and Aunt Shirley for coming from Houston to babysit the girls.  I wish I had gotten their picture with the girls!  Their stories of the night are pretty funny!  I think M&H had them jumping threw several hoops! :) 

I LOVE this family photo!  Just wish all our sisters could have made it, too.  

My precious family on this very special day.  Funny to think that when we started M&H weren't even thought of yet- oh how God works in amazing ways!

The sweetest couple I know- yes I am biased- but they had just celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary!  I love the LOVE that they have for each other and all of us.  

One of my most favorite friends and resident wives- Courtney Rai.  LOVE her.

My favorite part of the night was listening to all of the outgoing surgery doctors give speeches.  It was very sweet.  Ken did a great job- even though he hates that kind of stuff. 

After the celebration, we also celebrated in style- a gift basic made by The Sutton's- just for an OMFS surgeon.  

My mom thought of everything from bubblegum flavored teeth soap (that I only read the word bubblegum and tried to bite... I still can taste that soap-YUCK!) to tooth bottle opener, mug, cupcake dental floss, shot pens, GRILLZ- A little Memphis shout out, and much much more!

This is SO true...

Sporting the grillz... you can take The Haynes' out of Memphis...

but you can't take the Memphis out of The Haynes'!

Our 1st dance recital...

I am still recooperating from this MONUMENTAL event- but it sure was a lot of FUN!

Mattie and Hailey were in their very 1st dance recital in June (the busiest month/week of my life!)

The girls have really enjoyed dance this year- they took tap and ballet.  Hailey was in her element from the get go.  She loved being with the big girls and doing big girl things... 

Mattie on the other hand took a little longer to warm up- don't get me wrong- she willingly went to dance- it was just the listening and following directions part that took some time.

The recital was at The Grand Opera House in downtown Galveston- a perfect venue!  

Thankfully, all the grandparents were able to be there too!  

The girls loved getting to wear makeup!  I surprised myself and wasn't as ready for that for them yet!  I tried to do the least amount possible.  Plenty of time to look grown up- when you are grown up...

Trisha- my superhero of the night- took the job of keeping my girls entertained, content and willing to go on stage, even if it took a gentle push- so I could run around to the front and watch!  At one point Mattie was asleep on her- it was a long night for littles. 

Next up- TAP dance.  We loved our bumble bee costumes.

After the performances- all the little girls got sweet flowers from friends and family.  Even the "dance fairy" had left a special treat in their carseats from doing such a great job!  All in all it was a great 1st dance recital.
