Haynes Family update!

The past few months sure have been CrAzY to say the least!!  Here are a few of the things we have been up to lately!

The girls visit their soon to be home- Corpus Christi!  I think it is funny that they are still looking for Miss Christi... :)

We met the incoming OMFS resident and his finance'.  We broke them in right at The Poop Deck...  

If you can't find us- check at Mario's!  This is a weekly standing date with Liz and IV.  It is amazing and may need to be continued throughout the summer.  I could come back once a week- right?!?!

 Hailey took to it like she was born at a salon, but Mattie was a little more uncertain.  She was willing to "have pretty toes" but wanted to stay with me.  :)  Secretly- I am SO ok with that!  :):):)

Liz and I became models!  That is a completely different post- but OH SO FUN!!!

We went to our first tea room with Sweet Mrs. Stevy and Alaina.  I wish I had a picture of us all!

As alway- WE LOVE some dress up!  Whether it is "driving Mrs. Daisy" hats at the tea room

or Mommies rainboots and heels- WE LOVE to be "FANCY"!  We often tell Daddy how "FANCY" he is! Hee Hee!!!

March of Dimes 2012

There is no better way for me to celebrate Mattie and Hailey's lives then to celebrate with the March of Dimes yearly walk!  This was the 2nd walk we have been able to participate in (physically) since these sweet girls have been on this earth. 

I had so many GENEROUS, GREAT people donate to this amazing cause in honor of my 2 loves and again- every bit counts!!! We personally met our goal of $350 and as a team raised over $750!  

  

 Although, Matiie and Hailey weren't in the NICU for a very long time (2 weeks to be exact), they did receive the help of the March of Dimes- several of the meds they received to help their lungs strengthen, monitor their breathing, etc- were developed by grants that Drs received from this amazing organization- so every NICU parent is touched by March of Dimes!  Thank you UTMB Resiterns for supporting this LIFE CHANGING and LIFE GIVING Cause!

Haynes happenings...

As usual- if there is no word from us- we are up to something... it is crazy busy on this island, in the Haynes world, with East End Preschool, UTMB, and JLGC. We have just been enjoying the last few months we have on this Galveston Island. :)

I have learned so much in the past 4 years- but that is an entire different post.

As most of you have heard- we have accepted a job in Corpus Christi, TX. This was not an easy decision to come to as Ken and I are both very close with our families and this move is going to keep us a little further than we originally planned.... but as God does, he changes hearts, changes minds, changes the plans that we have made in our own minds. I am so thankful for that...

On the flip side of missing family- which won't change, we are REALLY excited about staying near the water. Ken and I both are beach people- hands down- raising "beach babies", We went down this past weekend to try and find a house and ended up putting an offer on a brand new build house that is perfect for us. If all goes as planned- and I think it will- we will close June 1, 2012... and then we will move a few weeks later. We are so excited and SO SO SO blessed for this opportunity! We hope you all will take advantage of "family/friends" in Corpus and will come visit!

3 years old cuties!

My BIG 3 year old girls at their well visit check up.

The girls did so well! They were SO willing to be weighed and measured... it didn't hurt that everyone thought they were SO cute! :)

Mattie's STAT's:

3feet 2 inches tall (70%)

33 pounds (75%)

Hailey's STAT's:

3 feet tall (40%)

29.5 pounds (38%)

The girls LOVE Dr. Rogers. They would let her do anything. She has such a sweet spirit.

Mattie and Hailey did have to get a shot and blood test to make sure they were anemic. They were such troopers. Hailey didn't even cry! So BRAVE! Mattie only got teary eyed because she didn't want to lay down.

Bragging on these girls:

Mattie and Hailey keep us rolling, from their gestures to the things they say- can you say these 2 have PERSONALITY! A few funnies lately:

*Mattie on the causeway bridge looked on one side and said "I see the ocean!" and then looked on the other side of the bridge and said "Look Mommy! Another ocean!" So cute!

*Hailey has started asking everyone we meets name and introduces herself as "Hailey Sutton Haynes-bug" or "Hailey-boo" (not sure where that came from...

*Mattie calls fire trucks- "Fire drills"

*Hailey is convinced (and will argue it) that Belle is a boy because she has short hair.

*Mattie never wants to wear pants... we hit the door to our house and her pants are coming off. Ken and I both blush...

*Hailey will tell you that she smiles with her eyes and Mattie smiles with her mouth.

*Several of my close friends are pregnant and this fascinates M & H. Both have started saying they have babies in their tummies- horrifies Ken. Mattie the other night told Miss Laura that she had a baby in her tummy, then later she came back and told her that she didn't have a baby in her tummy, just cookies!"
